A couple weeks ago, P was pestering me with voicemails and texts. I wouldn't answer any of them because he pissed me off...
I went to visit him awhile back, and after allowing me to drink several beers and mixed drinks, he basically kicked me out because his "non-girlfriend" was coming to pick him up in the morning. I don't usually assume things, but I thought it was understood I would stay there since a) I was driving all the way (about an hour) to see him and b) we were drinking. Of course, as always, I was mistaken. Before I left, I told him exactly how I felt and vowed not to contact him.
...So after a particularly humorous text ("I want to take you on a real date!"), I texted him back.
Me: "A real date? Complete with me being kicked out at the end of the night??"
P: "That is bullshit! I had to work in the morning! I'm sorry you felt that way. I seriously wasn't kicking you out."
Me: "It made me feel cheap that you would make me leave like that."
P: "I'm sorry sweetie, I never meant to hurt your feelings. You usually want to leave semi-early to get home. I had no idea. Let me make it up to you."
Me: "And how do you plan on doing that?"
P: "I'll figure something out."
I might have even partially forgiven him if had remembered my birthday, but two weeks passed and no word until Saturday. He left a voicemail and a follow-up text. He wanted to take me out that night for dinner. Nothing like the last minute. Seems like the "non-girlfriend" wouldn't be around, so I was the next best thing. I have gone through this way too many times with P. I'm done with it. I know it's like the little boy who cried wolf because I've said it so many times, but I am done. It's too much work. Maybe we can still be friends, but as far as rekindling what we had many months before, he's a day late and a dollar short.
