I don't know how I survived almost a whole year without it, but it's back and I'm thoroughly engrossed once again. Nip/Tuck returned for it's third season and so far it has yet to disappoint.

Last season's cliffhanger left everyone wondering if Christian Troy would survive an attack from a psychopath dubbed the Carver because he cuts his victims' faces. To much relief, Christian was unharmed, save for the physical and emotional scarring left behind. He's now forced to deal with the residual effects of the attack on him, his sex life and his career.

Sean McNamara is in the middle of a separation and possible divorce from his wife, Julia. Meanwhile, their son Matt (who is actually Christian's biological son), is dealing with his own issues after his girlfriend turned out to be transgender and left at the end of last season.

A new detective is using Christian to gain insight into the Carver and his attacks. In attempt to get Christian to open up about his attack, she reveals her painful past. Reenacting the attack in Christian's bed and unable to resist each other, they end up having aggressively (and hot) vengeful sex. To Kimber's dismay, she finds Christian railing on the detective when only hours before he was proposing marriage. Instead of making a scene and walking out, she chooses to join in for a sedective threesome. After all, she directs porn movies.

Sean and Christian's practice is struggling with only one available doctor. Sean seeks the help of an old friend and fellow surgeon, Dr. Quentin. To add confusion to chaos, Sean is called to the aid of a morbidly obese woman who has been stuck to her couch for three years.

Nip/Tuck has once again set the bar for those unconventional and explicit dramas we love to watch. Its boundary-pushing story lines and graphic scenes are what keeps us glued to the TV every Tuesday night. That, and I wouldn't mind a little nip/tuck from Julian McMahon!
