I started my new job today. Thanks to this weekend, I was yawning all day long. Hopefully I didn't come across as insanely bored, because frankly, I wanted to crawl under the desk for a quick nap. I just never seem to get enough sleep, and when I finally can sleep in, I wake up ass early.
A few weeks ago, a new FedEx guy came to pick up our shipments. He was training with one of the regular drivers. He is HOT. He came in a few other times and we joked (and I tried flirting) with him. I told him that my last day would be Friday and I wouldn't be there anymore. Friday afternoon he stopped in to use the bathroom. Apparently, we made him feel at home. He asked for my number and I gave it to him. I can honestly say I haven't traditionally given a guy I didn't know my phone number in a looooooong time.
Friday night, Beth, Priya and I went to PLs for my "I quit my job" celebration. Two beers in, we were sulking at the table and looking exhausted. I saw P's "girlfriend" at the bar. He claims they aren't dating and her MySpace status is still single (I can't believe I just used that publicly). But they spend every waking moment together and I can't help but think that there is something serious between them. I wanted her to know about P and me, and how we spent our evening the other night. Not because I am vengeful, but because he's a scumbag and she probably has no clue. We decided to leave, and I was kind of relieved I didn't have to look at her anymore.
On my way home, G called. He was the one I had been "hanging out" with until he gushed about how hot my friends were, leaving me feeling like chopped liver. We hadn't talked since then. He wanted to know if I was going to be at PLs. I told him we had just left. He sounded disappointed until I told him I would be back in town the next night. He asked me to call him if we were out and about. Later that night, FedEx guy called. I had fallen asleep so I didn't answer. He left me his number and mentioned something about going on his boat Sunday.
First thing Saturday, FedEx called again. He wanted to know if I wanted to go out on his boat with him and his friends to see the boat races and air show. I graciously accepted the invitation and made plans for the following day. That night, Beth, Priya and I rocked the 80s style. Priya's co-worker was having an 80s themed birthday party so we obliged and found the 80-iest (new word!) outfits we could manage. Needless to say, I felt like a complete fool. We opted out of going downtown in our 80s garb and instead hit up Taco Bell for a late night feast.
Sunday, I met up with FedEx and we drove to the most amazing part of town. His parents have a HUGE, gorgeous house near the water, a boat, a jetski, and other fun things I'm sure. HELLO! In all, there were ten of us on the boat. We mingled with the other hundreds of boats, drank, and had a blast (minus the girl who almost drowned her and her boyfriend). FedEx was totally hitting on me but he was equally macking on another girl. As it turns out, she will be his new roommate in a few weeks, which I found odd. She and I did hit it off when we discovered we had so much in common. Somehow, her and I ended up kissing, although I don't make it a point to make out with girls. FedEx loved it. The caution flags were up, but I still enjoyed FedEx's company and he enjoyed mine (especially when my breast popped out of my bathing suit top). We all parted ways around 6pm. FedEx gave me a goodbye kiss and tried to get me in the backseat for some "privacy." Somehow, it didn't seem as crude as it sounds because I was drunk. I laughed and politely declined.
On the way home, I ended up stopping by B's to say hi. Before I knew it, it was 11pm and I was still kind of drunk and extremely tired. I barely made it home without falling asleep. I had to keep slapping myself to stay awake. FedEx called to make sure I got home okay, which earned him a few brownie points. I was so retarded with tiredness, I forgot to set my alarm and I overslept a teeny bit. I did make it to work at 8am on the dot. I totally paid for it today, though. I need sleep and lots of it. But the best part is, I get home from work by 4:10pm rather than 7:30pm! I'm not quite sure what to do with those extra three hours yet. I'll let you know.
